Backpack Safety

There are many products on the market for backpack safety. The extent to which you worry about backpack safety depends on the countries you intend to travel. A few general tips for safety will help you feel more at ease and hopefully deter any opportunist thief’s. It is a good idea to take a few small padlocks (preferably with the same key) to lock the zips on your pack.

  Buy Locks

These locks are to deter opportunist thief’s, but a determined thief would just slice open the pack. This is where the more secure bag gauzes come in to play. This prevents people slicing open the bag whilst it is on your back. This type of theft is quite uncommon but it has been know especially in some of the South American countries.

It is a good idea to take some simple chains to secure your bag in hostel rooms or on public transport. This again will not stop the determined thief but will make you feel happier and would stop opportunist thieves.
